Last night I learned about light bokeh - a Japanese term meaning "blur" - so, when you have burred balls of light in the background or wherever in a photo. And you can create shaped bokeh by cutting out black paper (at least the black side of the paper will face toward the camera lens when you wrap the paper over the lens.) So I cut a heart out as shown in the photo above and taped it to my lens.

Set the lens’ focal length to 55mm on my Canon Rebel.

Asked Chris to help with the settings cause my initial photos weren’t coming out how I’d hoped.

He set the shutter speed to 1/30 and the aperture was wide open at 5.6 - he would’ve gone lower but that’s the lowest setting it would go.

And I got what I wanted - all the Christmas tree lights turns to hearts! ❤️ 💛 💙 💜 💚 💗
